Dora Bloom, 83, of Waterloo, Iowa, formerly of Duluth, died Thursday, May 15, 1997, in Waterloo.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a Waterloo resident since 1989. She lived in Duluth from 1948-1955, Silver Bay from 1955-1970, and Boca Raton, Fla., from 1970-1989. She was a former member of Temple Israel in Duluth and a volunteer at Lighthouse for the Blind.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Bessie Rutstein; and her husband, Dr. Joseph Bloom, in 1982.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Steven Bloom of Waterloo, and Dr. Harvey Bloom; a daughter, Joan Bloom Kahn of Vail, Colo.; sisters, Bert Becker of Florida, and Ricky Kaplan of Oakland, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services: Sunday at 10 a.m. in Dougherty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Temple Emanuel Cemetery. Memorials to Friendship Village Medical Center, 600 Park Lane, Waterloo, IA 50702.
